Born & raised in the Chicagoland area, Debbie has lived here her entire life. She was diagnosed over a decade ago but has had the symptoms of fibromyalgia for as long as she can remember. She has since made it her goal in life to help as many people as she can with FM & CP. She has recently started her own nonprofit organization for the Chicagoland area that has an online support group, helps in bringing walkers, braces, canes and other walking devices to those that are underinsured or low-income persons that need help in the Chicagoland area. She recently was involved with the Astellas Pharmaceutical Company in a research program where they were able to have Debbie ask her support group members questions to further their research in a new drug they were testing for the market (fingers crossed). Debbie was also interviewed by Dr. Melissa Cady from the University of Texas at Austin in September 2017 regarding her struggles with Fibromyalgia and how she has overcome her daily pain and created the organization that is here to help so many and also organizing another annual walk. You may find the link to that interview on her website.
Debbie is a wife to a wonderful veteran that fought in the Gulf War & Desert Storm. She has one beautiful daughter and 2 fun loving & yes, very handsome grandsons. She is also a mother to a fur-baby, that is an adorable Maltipoo born in March 2017.
Won’t you come and help us raise awareness for this worthy cause? Yes, there are so many worthy causes out there, but if you are reading this, there is a reason and perhaps you are reading it because you have been recently diagnosed, or you know someone who has been diagnosed or you are just curious about the illness. Regardless of the reason, you are here and we would love for you to help by participating, donating or even sponsoring the Chicagoland Walk for Awareness, Education & Research. Thank you for your decision to help.
